Academic Hospital Nutrition and Dietetics Department aims to provide patients with the awareness for a healthy diet to help increase their quality of life. The department assists inpatients and outpatients in turning their diatery plans into a lifestyle and monitors the implementation of these.
Clinic (outpatient) service
Individuals who wish to receive outpatient treatment are extensively assessed.
The personal history (age, sex, generic markers, lifestyle, pre-existing diseases and dietary habits) is obtained.
A customized body composition analysis (body fat mass, soft lean mass, total body fluid, body mass index, base metabolic rate, total energy consumption, waist/hip ratio) is done and evaluated with laboratory findings.
These findings are used to determine the individual’s dietary habits.
Afterwards, a personalized and balanced dietary plan that sufficiently meets all requirements of the individual is prepared.
Implementation by the patient and body analysis are assessed during regular follow-ups.
Adaptation and perseverance are maintained via these follow-ups.
Weight maintenance program is prepared once the patient reaches the appropriate weight.
Clinic (inpatient) service
Healthy menus that are suitable for the illnesses are prepared for inpatients.
Clinical findins and dietary habits of inpatients are assessed to create their dietary plans.
Daily visits are used to ensure the patients receive their diets in an orderly fashion and to check their consumption, thus providing treatment-appropriate dietary schedules.
The patient is trained on nutrition to continue at home post-recovery.
