What Is Fracture Nonunion?

The main goal in fracture treatment is for the bone to heal properly. In some cases, however, the expected healing does not occur and the broken bone ends do not unite. This condition is called fracture nonunion.

Nonunion may occur due to several factors that affect the fracture healing process. It is a serious orthopedic problem that may cause pain and loss of function.
